This past month we put jars in all the classrooms in our school.  They each had a label that said, “Help Heal Haiti”.  Students could then put money in the jars to donate for Haiti.  We collected almost $630 dollars to send to the American Red Cross.

We have also been working on a fundraiser for the American Heart Association.  One day while we were sitting in our Spirit Club meeting, Cassidy from the American Heart Association came in to help us plan the fundraiser.  Jump Rope for Heart is a program where kids and adults can raise money to help people with heart problems.  On Tuesday, February 16th, we had our kick-off assembly to get people excited to participate.  On Tuesday March 2nd, we had the Just Jumpin’ jump rope team come to our school.  On Friday, March 5th we had our event date where students participated in many kinds of exercises, including jump roping, free throw shooting, and hula hooping.
