End of the Year Announcements

We are quickly approaching the end of the school year. The last day of school is June 5th. The last day of school for kindergarten students is June 4th. Somethings to remember are:

- Students will be excused at 12:30 p.m. on June 5th

- Breakfast will be served but lunch will not be served on June 5th

-Lost and Found items need to be picked up in the cafeteria by the last day of school. They will be donated to a charity after school is out.

There are also several pairs of glasses that are in the office.

End of the Year Activities

There are some great end of the year activities coming up for our students at West Jordan Elementary. Stay tuned for information brought home for individual class room activities. School wide activities we are looking forward to are the Fun Run tomorrow June 2nd from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. and The PTA Reading Rewards Party on June 4th.

Road to Success

This past Friday the drawing for the Road to Success Reading Program was done. Two bikes and two $50 dollar savings certificates were given away. We would like to congratulate the following winners of the Road to Success drawings.

Bike winners were:

Mary Moss in Mrs. Bass's class
Adyson Hutchinson in Mrs. Imel/Mrs. Burton's class

$50 Saving's Certificate winners were:

A student in Mrs. Selk's class
Cory Andrews in Mrs. Gwynn's class

The Road to Success is a reading program where students are encouraged to read every night and record their minutes. Each week minutes are recorded and their names are entered in a drawing for prizes.

Also, minutes are recorded for each class. the class who recorded their minutes on the computer and read the most minutes of the entire school was Ms. Crump's class with 100,640 minutes, with a close second of 100,516 minutes was Mrs. Lavin's class. Mrs. Walker's class won first place in the younger grades with 94,187 minutes read. Remember to keep reading.
