West Jordan Elementary is currently in the middle of SAGE testing. We will be administering the Language Arts and Math SAGE. Remember, that this assessment is a snapshot—one single perspective. However, it is important that our students have every advantage to do their very best.
Some of things you can do to help your child do his or her best on the SAGE tests:
- Make sure your child gets a good night’s rest.
- Have your child eat a healthy breakfast at home or in the cafeteria at school.
- Make sure your child arrives to school on time.
- Gently encourage your child to do his or her best.
- Please remind your children not to rush, but rather to pace themselves.
- Encourage your child to read questions entirely before answering.
- Also, please encourage your children to review their answers if time permits.
Your child’s best effort on this test benefits both him/her and the school. Please let us know if you have any questions.
It is time for the end of the year testing. Dates for testing are May 15, 18, 19, 20, 21 and 22. Kindergarten will not be held on these dates and it will be neccessary for you to make arrangements for your child. Testing should have been scheduled using the online scheduler before May 8th. If you have any questions please call the office at 801-565-7506.
The West Jordan Elementary its 3rd annual Jr Jags Run for Funds Event on the morning of June 2nd. We rely on funds raised in order to par for many activities that our students get to participate in such as field trips, Fall Festival, special assemblies, Red Ribbon Week, school hospitality and literacy activities.
All students will be particitpating in the run. We ask that students find sponsors who are willing to support them in their efforts. This is not a per mile sponsorship. It is an ANY amount sponsorship. Studnets need to turn in their collected money by May 22nd. There will be prizes for the student and the class who can raise the most money. Contact your neighborhood West Jordan Elementary student and let them know you are willing to sponsor them today!
