Distinguished Cub
Mountain Shadows Kindergarten Distinguished Cub requirements.
Your child will receive this award if they pass off 12 of the 17 requirements
with their teacher by the deadline.

1. Know upper-case and lower-case letters.
2. Know sounds for all 26 letters.
3. Read all sight words. (a, and, I, is, he, here, are, do, play, said, my, have, her, like, look, for, go, yes, we, you, the, to, see, she, me)
4. Read all color words.
5. Read number words One - Twelve.
6. Be able to add to 10.
7. Be able to subtract up to 10.
8. Count by 1s to 100.
9. Count by 5s to 100.
10. Count by 10s to 100.
11. Identifies all shapes. (circle, square, oval, rectangle, triangle, rhombus, trapezoid and hexagon)
12. Name all coins
13. Hop, skip and jump rope.
14. Have excellent behavior at school.
15. Finish school work in an appropriate time.
16. Participate in the Reflections contest.
17. Writes first and last name with good handwriting and appropriate capitals.
