6th Grade Distinguished Cub Award 2010
In order to earn the Distinguished Cub Award in 6th grade, students must complete enough partial completions to equal 70% of the points possible for the listed items. Most items are things students complete at school. Several items require parents to notify the teacher upon completion of extracurricular activities. All activities must be completed in June.
1. Earn a B or better on each term report card for Language Arts.
2. Earn a B or better on each term report card for Math.
3. Earn a B or better on each term report card for Social Studies.
4. Earn a B or better on each term report card for Science.
5. Earn a 4 or better on each term report card for Spelling.
6. Enter the PTSA Reflections contest.
7. Complete and submit 5 art projects.
8. Participate in a class performance each term.
9. Read independently 900 minutes each term.
10. Participate in five school spirit activities.
11. Deliver an oral class presentation with 80% or better.
12. Submit writing pieces each term with 80% or better as your teacher directs.
13. Walk 65 miles during Fit Kids.
14. Have 100% attendance all year.
15. Have 6 or fewer tardies all year.
16. Participate 9 weeks in Safety Patrol.
17. Give 20 hours of community service (lunch work, cleaning school grounds, assisting teachers, and family or community service-parent verify hours).
18. Participate in the school play.

21. Have all S or E in citizenship marks on each term report card.
22. Demonstrate knowledge of 100% multiplication facts 1-12 within 5 minutes.
23. Demonstrate a knowledge of prime numbers 1-100.
24. Complete a mile run within Presidential Fitness/teacher adapted criteria. (12 minutes boys 15 minutes girls)
25. Complete a poetry notebook with 80% or better
26. Create a blog, website, or power point presentation, or podcast.
27. Earn all P’s in Healthy Lifestyles.
28. Complete and demonstrate a science project with 80% or better.
29.Participate in an extra curricular activity such as dance, sports, martial arts, music, drama for a season. Parent verify
30. Participate in a post season tournament, recital, or event where skills are demonstrated to the public. Parent verify
31. Set and achieve a measurable personal academic goal. Parent notify
32. Show measurable improvement for two consecutive terms in an academic subject.
33. Achieve 33 wpm keyboarding speed with 90% accuracy.
34. Serve on Student Council.
35. Earn DARE certificate.
36. Complete and present a social studies project.
