FIFTH GRADE DISTINGUISHED CUB
Twelve of the following items earns the distinguished cub award.

1. Memorize the Following:
   
   1. Preamble to the Constitution
      
   2. The Beginning of the Declaration of
      Independence
2. Memorize the 50 states and identify them on a map
3. Identify the names of each state’s capital (match them)
4. Identify the state’s postal abbreviation
5. Complete a 100 problem Multiplication facts test in 5
   minutes with at least a 90% accuracy
6. Complete 15 book reports
7. Have a 98% record in Punctuality
8. Have an 85% average on spelling tests this year
9. Read five (5) Newbery Books and complete a report or pass an AR test on each one (Newbery Honor Books will count)
10. Write and publish eight (8) selections in Writer’s Workshop ( Spelling, Punctuation, Grammar, and Paragraphs are necessary)
11. Write a report using the Internet as a source
12. Satisfactorily complete a States Fair Project
13. Satisfactorily complete a Science Fair Project
14. Complete Packet titled “100 Questions Every American Ought to Know” with 80% accuracy
15. Explain, distinguish, and demonstrate the difference between Physical and Chemical Reaction
16. Construct Parallel and a Series Circuits and identify allparts
17. Participate in the Reflections Contest
18. Participate in the School Musical
19. Reconstruct the Metric Place Value Chart. Identify Fractional Equivalence, Prefixes, Abbreviations and Order
20. Memorize Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address
21. Participation in the school orchestra or school choir
