Third Grade Distinguished Cub Requirements
Students must compete 12 of the following items to earn the Distinguished Cub.

1. ___ Publish 6 stories. (Typed and illustrated.)
2. ___ Complete 55 hours of home reading.
3. ___ Identify and locate the countries in South America.
4. ___ Create a report at home using information gathered from the internet and then written in the student’s own words.
5. ___ Invite a parent or friend to come to talk to the grade or class about another    country, culture or an occupation.
6. ___ Submit a Reflections entry.
7. ___ Pass off all uppercase and lowercase cursive letters.
8. ___ Pass off 100 multiplication facts, up to 10’s, with 90% accuracy on final evaluation.
9. ___ Be able to identify and label all the letters on the keyboard and pass off home row.
10. ___ Complete 5 book reports, one of which is an oral presentation.
11. ___ Reach your Accelerated Reading goal. (Goal will be set with your teacher.)
12. ___ Memorize 1 part for a Readers’ Theater.
13. ___ Improve scores in one subject area one whole grade level.
14. ___ Participate in the craft/hobby fair by preparing a quality display.
15. ___  5 or fewer tardies.
