Rosamond Elementary Student Code of Conduct
The Rosamond Elementary School faculty, staff, parents, and students take pride in their school. The goal of Rosamond is to provide a safe place for learning and growing. We value a school-wide atmosphere of respect and responsibility. To accomplish these goals, we have the following school-wide rules:
- Directions first time
- Appropriate mouth
- Appropriate hands and feet
- Good work
- Appropriate place
Possible consequences for following the school-wide rules:
- Improved self-esteem •Student recognition
- Awards •Classroom activities
- Incentive activities •Greater freedom
- Respect •Principal’s 200 Club Ticket
Consequences for not following the school-wide rules:
- Warning
- Loss of privilege or other classroom consequence
- Think Time
- (Second Think Time in one week) Phone call home
- (Third Think Time in one week) Office referral
Think Time
At Rosamond, we believe personal decision-making gives students personal power. “Think Time” helps students understand and make positive decisions about their own behavior. If students at Rosamond choose not to follow our school-wide rules, after a warning, they may be asked to go to “Think Time.”
Think Time is an area within a partner classroom where students can go to think about their behavior and decide how to change it. While at Think Time, they will be asked to answer these questions verbally and in written form:
- What was my behavior?
- What should I do differently?
- Will I be able to do it?
When the questions have been answered, the student returns to the classroom.
Principal’s 200 Club
The Principal’s 200 Club has been implemented to reinforce appropriate behaviors. Students can be given a Principal’s 200 Club ticket from any staff member for appropriate behavior. Students bring the ticket to the office and sign the Celebrity Club book. Students then select a random number for the Principal’s 200 Club poster. The poster is in a grid form, and before each track change, all students in the row or column with the most names are selected to participate in an activity with the principal.
