Kindergarten Soaring Eagle Award Requirements 2009-2010

STUDENTS MUST HAVE
15 OUT OF 20
IN ORDER TO RECEIVE THE AWARD

1. Write your first and last name using a capital letter for the first letter and lower case for the other letters.
2. Complete an oral report and share it with your class ( see your teacher for details and a time to share.)
3. Spell 11 color words correctly ( white, yellow, orange, pink, red, purple, green, blue, brown, gray, and black)
4. Spell number words (zero through 10 ) correctly.
5. Count to 100 by 1's
6. Count to 100 by 10's
7. Participate in a service learning activity (picking up garbage, taking a meal to someone in need, etc.)
8. Participate in the creative arts ( dance, karate, art, music, etc.) This does not necessarily need to be formal lessons.
9. Know personal information (phone number, address, birthday)
10. Learn and recite four poems.
11. Learn to play a new board game of card game ( chess, checkers, scrabble, etc.)
12. Complete and return 90 percent of homework assignments.
13. Complete and return 90 percent of reading logs.
14. Write a poem or short story.
15. Count backwards from 20.
16. Correctly spell the days of the week.
17. Track and graph the weather for two weeks.
18. Know the names and worth of four coins (penny, nickel, dime, quarter.)
19. Care for a plant or an animal for one month.
20. Help plan and cook one meal eah week for one month.
