Title I/ CSIP Executive Summary
Majestic Elementary

 

Most Critical Academic Needs:
            To increase the number of students achieving substantial and sufficient mastery in reading: Decoding and spelling, vocabulary development, reading fluency, and reading comprehension.

To show improvement with “economically disadvantaged” and “students with disabilities” subgroups in order to pass both AYP and UPASS.

To increase the number of students achieving at the substantial and sufficient mastery in math.

School Mission Statement:
More Students doing Better Schoolwork.

CSIP Goals:

  1. To increase the total number of students reading at Level 3 and Level 4 as measured by CRT scores.
    1. Provide quality instruction to all students.
    2. Provide additional services for students below grade-level.
    3. Provide a reading incentive program.
    4. Improve guided reading libraries and supplies for guided reading.
  1. Improve mathematics performance of students in grades 1-6 by moving 8% of Level 2 students to Level 3.
    1. Provide regular assessments in math and interventions for students who are below grade-level.
    2. Provide a before-school tutoring program for students.
    3. Support classroom teachers with a math coach.
  1. Decrease the number of referrals to the principal’s office by 5%. Implement a school-wide “THINK TIME” discipline and character development program.
    1. Utilize “THINK TIME” as a school-wide discipline model.
    2. Provide on-going character education for students.
    3. Provide celebrations for students who have no “THINK TIMES” each grading period.
  1. Economically disadvantaged students and students with disabilities did not make AYP. Additional support will be offered to our economically disadvantaged group in both language arts and math. Students with disabilities will receive additional support in the classroom by providing additional Title One support staff to aid the resource teachers in proving quality instruction in Language Arts and Math.
