Welcome to Joel P. Jensen Middle School. The administration and faculty at Joel P. Jensen believe that an important part of being a successful middle school is helping our students make a smooth transition between elementary school and high school. Organization is a key component to that successful transition. We strongly believe that if classroom practices and expectations can be aligned school wide, our students will be more organized and confident. In an effort to streamline this organizational process, the faculty and administration at Joel P. Jensen Middle school will support the following school wide behavior expectations:

Students are required to exhibit the F.R.O.G. expectations in all areas of the building, including classrooms, gym, cafeteria, hallways, auditorium, library, restrooms, and computer labs. Consequences for positive and negative behaviors are:

School wide Grading Policy:
All classes will use the point system. Assignments, tests, quizzes, and projects will be assigned points. Parents, please check Gradebook regularly. Grades will be updated every Tuesday.
School wide Grading Scale:
All teachers will utilize the following school wide grading scale for assignments, projects, tests, and final grades. Individual teachers may weight grading categories differently.

92% - 90% | C+ | 79% - 77% | D | 66% - 63% |

89% - 87% | C | 76% - 73% | D- | 62% - 60% |

School wide Tardy Policy:
Students are expected to be in their assigned seats in the classroom with their materials, ready when the tardy bell rings. Students will have no penalty for the first tardy in each class, each quarter. After receiving their penalty free tardy in each class, any additional tardies will affect the student's citizenship grade. The following citizenship grades will be based on class behavior, attitude, and attendance.

| H - 0-1 tardies, no referrals | N - 4-6 tardies, or 1 referral |
| S - 2-3 tardies, no referrals | U - 7+ tardies, or 2+ referrals |

ASSIGNMENT DUE IN THAT CLASS THAT DAY.
