FLAG FOOTBALL RULES
1. To start game, do a kick off. Throw or kick the ball to the receiving team.
2. The receiver catches or picks up the ball then runs with it until the other team pulls the flag off the receiver.
3. If the ball drops on the ground on a kick off, you can pick it up and run with it.
4. Downs: Each team gets 2 sets of downs.
There are 4 downs per set. 1st set - to midfield 2nd set- to the end zone
The 1st down starts where the player running with the ball had their flag pulled after the kick off. The team gets 3 more downs to get past the midfield line. If they do, they get 4 more downs to try to score.
On the 4th down, the team with the ball must decide if they want to go for it, or throw the ball to the other team. If they decide to go for it and they don’t make it past midfield or into the endzone, the other team gets possession right at the spot where the 4th down wasn’t made.
