IMPORTANT SAFETY MESSAGE

Dear Parents:

The safety of the students at Herriman Elementary is one of our greatest concerns. We need your help! Of great concern is the safety of students as they are dropped off at school in the morning and picked up in the afternoon. Please review the following procedures with ALL drivers in your family that drop off or pick up your students.

AUTHORIZED DROP-OFF AREAS (Please see diagram).

• Drop off lane in front of school (Lane next to the curb)
• Drop off area along curb on 100 South (North side of school heading east)
• Please pull forward when dropping off students.
• Park in parking lot when leaving vehicle. Parents may park in the parking lot and walk their child across only at marked cross walks.
• Do not stop or park in the parking lot, except in parking stall.

UNAUTHORIZED DROP-OFF/PICK-UP AREAS

• Drive through lane
• East side of 6000 West
• Bus lane on the north side of the school

RECOMMENDATIONS

• Car pool
• Be patient-the safety of students is the most important!
• Pull forward to keep traffic moving
• Be cooperative and understanding
• Encourage more parents to use the south side of 100 South
• Use drop-off/pick-up area
