Kindergarten
We are so excited to have such wonderful kindergartners in our classes. We are working hard at learning the rules, routines and making friends. We are also learning to write the alphabet in lowercase letters. Everyone is working on writing their name better. Encourage your children to practice their name at home in creative ways. Here are some ideas; write on a white board, use finger to write name in shaving cream or pudding (or even MUD), use sidewalk chalk or use a toothpick and write on a sugar cookie before baked. Just be creative.
Remember to read each day to build a large vocabulary, phonemic awareness, sound to text concepts and many other skills. Reading every day to your child will greatly increase there ability to read and write.
Remember to count everything! Count cereal before eating them, count crayons, Legos, treats, anything and everything.
We really appreciate everyone that has volunteered in our classrooms. Thank you so much for leaving preschoolers at home and making this a special time for your kindergartner.
