1st GradeJanuary 2010: The first graders are learning about penguins, eskimos and arctic animals. We are doing fun art projects on various winter themes. We are starting our valentine activities and projects. We have also been learning about water. The first graders meet often and sing together and know many songs. Please remember to keep reading at home, even when you are off track. First graders should be reading at least on a level F by the second report card.
NOVEMBER: In November we will be studying pilgrims and Native Americans and doing various art projects. Students will learn about Thanksgiving and we will be eating in our rooms for Thanksgiving. Please remember to keep reading at home as much as possible. Remember to read while off track. It is also very helpful for parents to read to their children at home, as this helps them to learn new words
FIRST OF YEAR GREETING: Our first graders are getting used to a full day of learning and we are having fun together. We have learned our colors and are getting full swing into Math and Language Arts. Please help your child to do his take-home reading each night. This is very important as well as the Math homework that will be coming home soon. Our Spelling program will be starting soon as well. Please practice with your child so that he is ready for the test on Friday. The First Grade Team Mrs. E. Larsen - Mrs. M. Larsen - Miss Hubbard - Mrs. Fasselin |
