2nd Grade Distinguished Dolphin Goals

      Daybreak Distinguished Dolphin
Second Grade Goals

All children will need to complete a minimum of 15 of the following 20 goals to receive the Daybreak Dolphin Pride Award.  Goals will be passed off throughout the year.  Watch for monthly goals in the newsletter.

 

    • Memorize and be able to write your full name, address, phone number, and birth date.
    • Handwriting:  Pass off all upper and lower case manuscript letters using the correct lines. (Zaner Bloser Manuscript)
    • Participate in REFLECTIONS.
    • Do 15 sit-ups.
    • Demonstrate skills for jumping rope, and be able to skip 10 paces.    
    • Write 10 sentences using your spelling words (sight words).
    • Do 5 good deeds and write about them.
    • Write a book report and present it to the class.
    • Make a pre-approved product that represents a favorite book.
    • Writing:  Write 3 original stories.  Present one to the class.
    • Count by 2’s, 5’s and 10’s to 100, and 25’s to 100.
    • Recognize and count coin combinations to $1.00
    • Read 200 second grade sight words in 6 minutes.
    • Run the grass course at school 2 times.
    • Research and write a report from an approved topic.
    • Reading:  50 hours of reading at home.  (3,000 minutes)
    • Show proficiency in regrouping using addition.
    • Earn 100% on 12 spelling tests.
    • Memorize addition and subtraction facts through 20.
    • Achieve at least 90% attendance.
