1st Grade Distinquished Dolphin Goals

First Grade Distinguished Dolphin Requirements
Goals need to be completed by: May 25th- A/B Tracks, June 1st- C/D Tracks

Enter PTA’s Reflection contest and notify teacher that student has done so.

95% Attendance (9 absences)
-
95% Punctuality
-
95% Positive comments sent home on conduct card or no more than one note or call home each month for poor behavior.

Return a total of 8 completed monthly reading calendars, on time and signed.
-
Learn the name and value of all coins.
-
Pass addition and subtraction facts to 18 at 90%.
-
Return at least 90% of completed homework.

Memorize address and phone number with area code.

Physical Fitness Award- Students may earn this by participating in the school’s annual “Fun Run”, earning the Presidential Fitness Award, or demonstrated competency in Physical Education skills including: walking, running, skipping, galloping, hopping and jumping.

Write numbers 1-100.

Participate in a service project outside of your immediate family. Write 2 paragraphs of what you did and your feelings about the experience and share it with the class.

Practice and participate in 1st grade Grandparent’s Day Program.

Extra Curricular Activity- Student can share about their participation in an extracurricular activity (ex. Music, sport, dance, art, etc.).

*Complete a book report at home and share with class. Book Report Requirements: Students should read and share a favorite book and make a mobile, diorama, poster, write a song, or act out the story.

*Write and illustrate a story at home and share with class. The story should be at least 8 sentences on a minimum of four pages. Students can have parent support in typing the story but the words and illustrations must be the student’s own work.

**Complete a “Great Brain” project at home. Presentations will start in the month of January. Sign up sheets and project criteria will be available at the first parent teacher conference.
Students must complete 14 of the 17 items to earn the Distinguished Dolphin award for the 2009-2010 school year.
*Must be completed at home and be of quality work.
**Students are required to complete number 11 to earn Distinguished Dolphin Award.
We are unable to offer alternative assignments or allow for extra time, please be aware of this issue.
