Book Adventure

Dear Parents,

         We are kicking off a new reading program that uses a website called Book Adventure to motivate students to read more frequently and carefully. This will replace the A.R. program. Book Adventure is an incentive program that enables students to earn points and rewards for answering questions on-line about the books they have read.

            This is how it works: Students and teachers choose appropriate books from the Book Adventure database. Students read the books then return to the Book Adventure website to take quizzes on the books. Points will be awarded based on the number of questions answered correctly.  Each book awards between 100-200 points.  Each 100 points will give the students 1 point to spend at our Book Adventure store that will be open during lunch every track change day. The students will need to earn 5 points to go to the store.  There will be lots of fun prizes to choose from.

The students will be able to explore the Book Adventure website at school or if you have internet access at home, work or local library you can explore Book Adventure yourself and take tests.

Book List

            Your teacher will give your child a username and password. The password will be their birthday, not including the year.  Encourage your child to read, then check to see if the book is on the database to earn points for rewards. If you would like your child to earn prizes through Sylvan's prize program, you will need to register your student separately with a new username and password. Tests taken through that username will not transfer to his or her school username, so you will have to choose which test to use for Crescent points or Sylvan points.
